Recovering Project in Exception Print

ImageWe were asked to analyse a project in central government where the software development had started before the new business processes had been fully defined. The project had been placed in exception for being outside acceptable tolerances.

What we did

We worked with users and system owners and captured their requirements in terms of the performance improvements of value to them.  These were prioritised by business importance and then staged by their inherernt dependcies upon each other.  With this new understanding of business requirements the software development was restructured to deliver against the performance requirements and the associated business processes were designed.

The outcome for the client

Our analysis of the performance valued by business users formed a critical part of the final business case.  We moved a project in exception to the point where it became manageable within time and budget and ultimately delivered valued capabilities to the users.
