What we didThe majority of the shops had internet access, so a web based stock control system seemed to be the obvious technical solution. However shop staff did not have good IT skills and there wasn't a large budget for a solution. We made a small evolutionary step for free, buy constructing a simple access controlled web page where shops could download the stock file which stock manager could upload whenever it changed. The outcome for the clientThe solution met the clients objective of reducing the amount of paper documents produced and mailed out. The cost of the solution was only in time and was less than writing a proposal. This will give the client some practical experience of how ready the retail outlets are for simple business use of the Internet. |
