Dealing With Information Complexity Print

ImageIt is so easy these days to create and store information that information structures often become a sprawling mass of data and documents.   Typically, file stores are everywhere and poorly managed, large databases are generally well regulated but small application specific databases are proliferating and there is a burgeoning volume of e-mail, messaging, voice and video that needs be stored and managed.  The diversity and complexity of information within organisations is growing exponentially.  Consequently, organisations need to identify the high value information that is critical to the performance of key business processes and focus improvement in those areas.

At i-logue we recognise this trend and have been working with organisations in a number of ways to help them address information complexity issues.  The following list is not exhaustive but gives a flavour for the type of parts we have played:

  • Identifying key, high value information and information leverage points within the organisation.
  • Defining an Information Strategy that works with the Business and IT Strategies.
  • Improving policies and procedures for creating, capturing, accessing and using information.
  • Designing information structures that support the business direction and utilisation requirements of the organisation.
  • Identifying, selecting and implementing technologies to address business information needs.
  • Identifying, modifying and managing business process changes to enable better information utilisation and exploitation.
