Budgets are always constrained (or we haven't yet found an organisation without constraints) and usually there are more ideas for projects than funding will allow. The question decision makers face is which projects to invest in? We can help by providing information to decision makers on the degree to which projects will contribute to goals of the organisation.
The programme assessment service is closely based on our approach to benefits. We normally find that the strategic benefits sought are based on the improvement goals of the organisation. By clarifying these and then establishing how the benefits proposed by projects link to strategic benefits, we can determine the contribution made by each project. Even where data does not exist to make these linkages measurable, a great deal of insight can be gained from the quantification approach. |
