News - 2006 a Big Year for IM |

We are identifying some major investments in information management (IM) and 2006 is looking like a year where we are starting to see some significant changes in the ways individuals and organisations find information.
 It is now commonly accepted that some 80% of information within organisations is held in documents, presentations, e-mail and other unstructured formats. It is therefore not surprising that Accenture recently announced that they will spend around $100M introducing a IM business unit and the IBM plan to spend $1B to enhance their software and consultancy offerings. It is also predicted that in 2006 search will surpass e-mail at the most commonly used on-line capability in the US.
